Learn the best ways to preserve old photos, letters, maps and other items typically found in boxes in the attic or basement. Guest speaker: Deb Schiff, local history librarian at Chester Library.
Learn how to preserve your family's treasures and the importance of using archival quality materials. The last half hour of the program is dedicated to an interactive question and answer session during which attendees who bring in an item or two - a rare/old book, photo, letter, map, object - learn how best to keep their treasures safe for future generations.
Deb Schiff is the Local History Librarian at Chester Library in Morris County, the Archivist at the Plainfield Historical Society and a private preservation consultant for archives throughout New Jersey.
