"Jane Eyre" is a novel by the English writer Charlotte Brontë. It was published under her pen name "Currer Bell" on 19 October 1847 by Smith, Elder & Co. of London.

Jane Eyre, Charlotte Brontë ’s masterpiece is an enduring work of fiction which has stood the test of time. On the surface it is the story of an orphan girl who rises above her circumstances, displaying great strength of character and ultimately finds love and happiness.
However, the novel also encompasses themes of misogyny, evangelicalism and class inequalities in 19th century England.
