Leap into Science is a nationwide program that integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, designed for children and their families. The Leap into Science balance workshop invites children and families to learn more about the science of light & shadow. Children will explore the concept of balance through guided activities with Ms. Dee and using the following materials: 

• Wooden blocks of various shapes (or soft blocks will work)
• 3-4 Plastic animals, little toy cars, little toy soldiers, anything that is the size of a thumb.
• Outline cookie cutters
• LED flashlights or regular flashlight
• Glass Cup (must be see through)
• Dry-erase board, or white cardstock (4-5 sheets), or printer paper or construction paper
• Tape
• Cardboard
• Crayons or Markers
