February is Black History Month.
The life of Benjamin Banneker was crafted and shaped by the social, cultural, and political climates of the 17th and 18th centuries in British North America. The paths of intrinsic intelligence, political fortitude, and universal ingenuity were forged by the resilience of his family lineage. The family legacy was rooted in the deepest vows of human empathy, hard work, and perseverance.
Those traits, along with many others, were passed down to Benjamin Banneker and helped to develop his mind into one of high intellectual ability and allow him to develop skills far beyond those of a traditional genius.
