Are you aware of LGBTQ challenges? Adults and high school students will explore why labels, pronouns, and gender categories are so complex. Community discussion. No Registration Required.
Controversies about transgender students, athletes, and service members have, in recent years, drawn attention to the challenges gender nonconforming people face in public life. Have you asked yourself about your level of awareness of these about these issues? In this session, participants will explore, through informed conversations and using specific examples, why labels are so complex and whether gender categories are ever useful. Presented by Kiki Jamieson, Ph.D., President of the Fund for New Jersey.
This program is funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
Will you need a special accommodation (including food allergy if applicable to the program)? If so, please contact the library and provide at least two weeks notice prior to the event date and the library will make every effort to honor all requests.
