The orchid family is the largest flowering plant family on earth with about 28,000 species. It is also one of the oldest plant families – developing about 100-125 million years ago.

In this program, we will learn interesting facts about orchids, pollination and the breadth of orchid varieties.

See stunning photos of over 30 different orchids, followed by practical information on how to take care of your new orchid, which includes potting with proper soil, watering and fertilization.

Learn about the best place for an orchid in your home.

Presenter: A certified American orchid society judge from Rutgers Master Gardeners will be presenting this program.
