Learn what to plant, where to get your plants, caring for the soil, cover cropping, raised and framed beds, irrigation systems, soil tests, and great resources to learn more.
Many people are aware of the benefits of organic agriculture, including its role in fighting climate change, ecological damage and human health problems. Local organic is even better than organic alone. What if you could reduce your food miles to zero? What if you could feed your family and neighbors healthy, pesticide-free produce grown with TLC? What if you wanted something a little bigger than a small garden off the back porch? “Backyard Veggie Gardening” will cover the tricks of the trade from farmer, Master Gardener and Executive Director of the Northeast Organic Farming Association Adrian Hyde.
Will you need a special accommodation (including food allergy if applicable to the program)? If so, please contact the library and provide at least two weeks notice prior to the event date and the library will make every effort to honor all requests. Thereafter, requests will still be considered and may have less of a chance of being honored.
