SCLSNJ
Beatles scholar and sixties rock historian Vincent Bruno will explore the songs that John, Paul, George, and Ringo wrote but never officially recorded, instead giving them away to other artists.
This presentation will discuss the various performers that recorded songs written by the members of the Beatles while they were in the band and as solo composers and how these artists fit into the Beatles story. From the early days of the British Invasion of the 1960’s, to those artists who were affiliated with The Beatles' Apple record label, to the present, over 75 songs will be canvassed from such diverse artists as Peter & Gordon, The Rolling Stones, Badfinger, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, and Kanye West.
Vincent Bruno is a beatles scholar and sixties rock historian. He is recently retired as the Director of First Year Programs at LaGuardia Community College (City University of New York) and has taught courses in numerous disciplines. As a Beatles scholar and storyteller, he looks to both embrace not just their legacy but to present an entertaining, interactive, and informative session for both the casual listener as well as the hard core Beatles fan.
This event has been funded by the Friends of the Warren Township Library.
