Learn the fundamentals of traditional West African dance with emphasis on an understanding of the accompanying drum rhythms. Dance instruction by Audrey Davis-Dunning.
Explore the richness of African Dance and Music traditions with an emphasis on the relationship between music and dance. Presented by Audrey Davis-Dunning, the African Dance Lady. Live Percussion presented by Dave Merritt featuring the Groove Merchant Drum and Dance Ensemble. Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to move! Fitness waivers will be distributed at the program. If under 18 parent/guardians must be present to sign a Parental/Guardian Waiver.
Will you need a special accommodation (including food allergy if applicable to the program)? If so, please contact the library and provide at least two weeks notice prior to the event date and the library will make every effort to honor all requests. Thereafter, requests will still be considered and may have less of a chance of being honored.
