SCLSNJ
Experience how boxing can improve function in those who are experiencing neurological disorders. Rock Steady is a boxing program specifically designed for those with symptoms of Parkinsons disease.
Parkinson’s and other neurological issues causes a loss in many of the same elements that boxers condition to improve. Research has shown that forced, intense exercise can reduce, reverse and delay Parkinson’s symptoms. We also know that a diversity of symptoms needs to be addressed simultaneously.
In addition to being a certified Rock Steady Boxing Trainer, Barbara Kelly is a physical therapist, with extensive experience working with people with neurological disorders.
Will you need a special accommodation (including food allergy if applicable to the program)? If so, please contact the library and provide at least two weeks notice prior to the event date and the library will make every effort to honor all requests. Thereafter, requests will still be considered and may have less of a chance of being honored.
