This video and presentation provides an overview on how the Revolutionary War was won, emphasizing the critical role that the area around Manville played in establishing the country's independence.
Join us to watch a video presentation by Dr. Michael Beck about the significance of Central New Jersey during the American Revolutionary War, followed by a Q&A session.
The American War of Independence occurred when thirteen remote British colonies came together to fight the most powerful nation on earth. This presentation provides a brief overview of the key events for those less familiar with the war, and aims to redefine the role Central New Jersey played in establishing this independence. It also challenges historians to shift the traditional telling of the narrative of heroes and villains to a more inclusive one that focuses on why and how things happened rather than who did them and when.
