We'll sample pie recipes – accompanied by fresh coffee, of course – when we watch this charming independent film about a small-town waitress and pie-maker chasing some very big dreams.
Join us for pie and coffee when we screen writer-director Adrienne Shelly's sweet, sassy comedy about the power of friendship, motherhood and second chances. Jenna (Keri Russell) is a small-town waitress with some very big dreams. Unexpectedly pregnant and uncertain of her future, she hopes to win a big-time pie-baking contest with one of her many inventive recipes – including one called “I Hate My Husband Pie” – and to use the $25,000 grand prize to break free from her abusive husband. The New Yorker classifies Waitress as “a great American film” that “deftly achieves a tone pitched between fantasy and reality.” Entertainment Weekly calls it "tartly irresistible...a vibrant, uplifting comedy." Keri Russell "gives a hilarious, heartfelt performance in this sweetheart of a comedy," says Rolling Stone.
Directed by Adrienne Shelley. Starring Keri Russell, Jeremy Sisto, Cheryl Hines, Andy Griffith, and Adrienne Shelley.
Runtime: 107 minutes
