Join librarian, Cathy DeBerry, in a discussion of Jon Krakauer's seminal work, Under the Banner of Heaven.
In ''Under the Banner of Heaven,'' Jon Krakauer enters the world of Mormon fundamentalism. Using secondary historical texts and some contemporary primary sources, Krakauer details the history of the Mormon church from its creation by Joseph Smith to its violent journey from New York to the Midwest then to Utah and how it became one of the world’s fastest-growing religions. Attend a fascinating discussion about this book led by Adult Services librarian Cathy DeBerry. Included in the discussion will be the Mormon church’s response to Krakauer’s work. Pick up a copy of the book at SCLSNJ’s Warren Township’s branch after May 1.
