Armed with precious rare footage, Ricky Riccardi, Director of Research Collections for the Louis Armstrong House Museum, will bring Armstrong to life with films of his most memorable performances.
Louis Armstrong is undeniably one of the most influential figures of 20th Century music. Though he did most of his innovating in the 1920s, Armstrong had a long, storied career as a popular entertainer, beloved around the world as America's "Ambassador of Goodwill." Watch clips of Armstrong performances on stage and on television, including unforgettable renditions of songs such as "Hello, Dolly!" "What a Wonderful World" and the song that is known as one of the first protest songs ever recorded, "(What Did I Do to Be So) Black and Blue."
Presented by Ricky Riccardi, Director of Research Collections for the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Queens, NY; and author of "What a Wonderful World: The Magic of Louis Armstrong's Later Years".
