The international system is undergoing a power shift. Prof. Doug Simon, Drew University, examines China's growing economic power and Russia's attempts to regain geographic and political influence.
How will the United States react to this emerging environment? That is one of the most critical questions of our time. The exact nature of this power shift is not entirely clear, but it would appear that it has several components including China’s challenge to American global economic and military power, the growing importance of Eurasia, and Russia’s aggressive attempts to regain as much of the geographic and political influence it lost when the Soviet Union collapsed. Woven into this power shift is the specter of a new arms race, not merely conventional and nuclear weapons, but cyber weapons as well. Speaker: Prof. Douglas Simon. Prof. Emeritus Drew University.
