Get cozy with Oscar-winning director Ang Lee's acclaimed 1997 feature, a 1970s-set suburban drama that unfolds during a dangerous winter storm, starring Kevin Kline, Joan Allen and Sigourney Weaver.
Come in from the cold when we warm up to Ang Lee's acclaimed adaptation of Rick Moody’s 1994 novel, a dramatic examination of the ennui of 1970s suburban America, where both adults and adolescents struggle to adapt to shifting contemporary mores. Over the course of one tumultuous Thanksgiving holiday, an outwardly wholesome family begins cracking at the seams – as a dangerous, freak winter storm bears down. Newsweek called The Ice Storm “a well-observed, deftly performed examination of upper-middle-class emotional deep freeze.” Variety says Lee’s film “captures a place, a season, a garish and confused moment in history, with surgical precision.”
Directed by Ang Lee. Starring Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Allen, Tobey Maguire, Elijah Wood, and Christina Ricci.
Runtime: 113 minutes
