Relish Italian antipasti and a fresh espresso as we screen this delectable comedy set on the Jersey Shore in the 1950s, classified by Roger Ebert as “one of the greatest food movies of all-time.”
Enjoy Italian antipasti and espresso with a background of Italian music as we screen this delectable comedy, set on the Jersey Shore in the 1950s. Big Night tells the delicious tale of two Italian-American brothers whose old-fashioned eatery (called Paradise) is losing business to a newer, flashier restaurant. To fight back, they hatch a plan to persuade Italian-American singer Louis Prima to dine at Paradise – tempting him with a once-in-a-lifetime feast that means risking their entire life savings. Roger Ebert called Big Night “one of the great food movies of all time, and yet it is so much more. It’s about food not as a subject but as a language.”
Directed by Campbell Scott. Starring Stanley Tucci, Tony Shalhoub, Minnie Driver, Isabella Rossellini, and Allison Janney.
Runtime: 107 minutes
