History's greatest playwright was also one heck of a gardener. Explore Tudor and Shakespearean gardens, learn their basic design and celebrate flowers, herbs and trees immortalized by Shakespeare.
The age of Elizabeth I provided William Shakespeare with a rich and varied plant palette. Some he planted at his home in Stratford on Avon, but more he planted in his prolific contributions to English literature. They still bloom today in language filled with plant lore and flower symbolism. Turns out, the world's not only a stage, it's also a garden!
Presented by Lesley Parness, traveler and retired Superintendent of Horticultural Education for the Morris County Park Commission.
