Learn from a veteran Etsy seller, Melissa Quaal, about how, when, and why to open an Etsy shop and start selling your handmade beauties.
The conversation will cover the basics including legally starting a business in New Jersey, opening an Etsy store, ordering wholesale, building a brand identity, shipping, social media necessities and more. Learn all the tips and tricks so you can showcase your handmade skills and stand out in the world of handmade!
Melissa Quaal is a business owner, sewing instructor, and creator of The Espadrilles Kits, which she sells on Etsy. Her work has been featured in Frankie magazine, BUST and Mollie Makes magazine among other places online. In addition to making her own shoes, she also makes her own clothes. For the last six years she has refused to buy new clothes and has, instead, sewn or thrifted her wardrobe in an effort to counter the waste and conformity of fast fashion. It’s the radically simple idea of a mindful wardrobe. She has been selling her complete DIY kits for making espadrilles on Etsy for nearly five years and teaches sewing around the country.
