SCLSNJ
Enjoy Spanish Flamenco, regional dances and folkloric dances of Spain, that will also include interactions with the audience.
This presentation will explore the rich diversity and long history of Spanish dance styles, from regional dances that originated in the mountains of Asturias, Northern Spain to Gypsy rumbas. Dancers will utilize castanets, shawls, fans, and of course a lot of footwork.
Through dance, drama and music, Alborada's passionate artistry reveals the many diverse and historical threads that comprise the multicultural fabric of Spanish culture. Both entertaining and educational, the variety of its repertoire runs the artistic gamut of Spanish Flamenco and traditional dances, to Hispanic, Celtic, and Moorish cultural influences and beyond.
Alborada Spanish Dance Theater has performed in many venues in the Tri-State area, including the New York Symphony Space, Mayo Center for Performing Arts in Morristown, Crossroads Theater and George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick. They have also performed at Rutgers University, Raritan Valley Community College, Drew University, and at several museums.
