Learn proper defense as well as ways to prevent becoming a victim by being aware of your environment and practicing safe habits. Presented by Christine Hutchinson.
This program which includes an age appropriate conversation around safety, situational awareness, and avoiding becoming a victim. There is then be a hands-on section where they partner up and practice about 5 moves to fight off an attacker. The last part is a Q & A, often a starting point for creating awareness and better communication. Fitness waivers will be signed at the time of the program. If participant is under 18 a parent/guardian must sign the waiver for teen to participate.
Will you need a special accommodation (including food allergy if applicable to the program)? If so, please contact the library and provide at least two weeks notice prior to the event date and the library will make every effort to honor all requests. Thereafter, requests will still be considered and may have less of a chance of being honored.
