Sometimes vegetable or flower gardens don't thrive due to poor soil. Instead of trying to amend your native soil, you can make your own soil and have a successful garden that's productive and has fewer pests.

Charlie Nardozzo  will describe three unique methods of gardening: keyhole gardening, straw bale gardening and hugelkultur. Each method builds soil in unusual ways.

Charlie will also reference composting, and about the best ways to make a rich soil additive.

Presenter: Charlie Nardozzi is a regional Emmy® award winning garden writer, speaker, radio, and television personality. He has worked for more than thirty years bringing expert gardening information to home gardeners through radio, television, talks, tours, on-line, and the printed page. Charlie delights in making gardening information simple, easy, fun and accessible to everyone. Charlie is the author of seven books, has three radio shows in New England, and a TV segment at the CBS-TV affiliate in Vermont. He won his Regional Emmy for his CT Public TV Show, "New England Gardening with Charlie Nardozzi." Charlie also leads international garden tours, is a public speaker across the USA and Canada and consults with organizations and businesses starting up gardening programs.
