In the fall of 1777, at the risk of her life, she helped alert the Continental army to a surprise attack by the British. This program is an illustrated look at the legends and the facts about a courageous woman who gathered intelligence for George Washington’s secret service.
Jack Briggs, Ph.D., was a classroom teacher for over forty years and has given storytelling and history programs since 1984. Briggs has served as a consultant to Independence National Historical Park, the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, Wilmington University, West Chester School District, and the American Friends Service Committee. He holds a BA in history from Swarthmore College and a doctorate in education from the University of Pennsylvania. He retired from Friends’ Central School in Wynnewood, PA, and resides in Wilmington, DE.
