SCLSNJ
Baithak is a group of six South Asian women who have come together for their common love of South Asian prose and poetry.
Rabindranath Tagore was a writer, poet and music composer from India’s eastern state of Bengal. A literary giant who influenced the Indian literary landscape in the late 19th - early 20th century, he was the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize in literature.
South Asian literature is rich in thought, and content and quite often relevant to the current times as well. For various reasons, this body of literature is not widely read in the western world. It is Baithak’s intention to bring these literary gems to its audience in the form of storytelling.
