Learn to navigate the basics of Microsoft Office's two most popular products: Word and Excel.
Over the course of seven sessions, participants will learn the fundamentals of how to manipulate and manage their Microsoft Office documents. These sessions will be conducted in a lecture style with the option of attending a hands-on, 1 hour workshop afterwards. Attendance for all sessions is not required.
This is not a beginner computer course. A basic understanding of how to use a computer is necessary to understand the material.
September 11: MS Office - Document Management (which program to use for each task, how to save documents, where to save documents/file management, print/print preview)
September 25: MS Word - Formatting Page (page orientation, margins, alignment/justification, header/footer, text fields)
October 9: MS Word - Formatting Paragraphs (ruler, tabs, line spacing, bullets, indentation, section break, tables)
October 23: MS Word - Formatting Words & Objects (font type, font size, font formats, insert objects)
November 6: MS Excel - Data Cells (concept, data cell categories; cell re-sizing: manual, numeric, auto)
November 27: MS Excel - Data Formatting (wrap text, copy-paste, drag & paste, line spacing, border styles)
December 11: MS Excel - Date Formulas & Types (formulas; text, numbers, symbols; auto-sum)
