Learn ways to take care of yourself and find balance in your life. Presenters from United Way of Northern New Jersey will give information on local and state resources available to caregivers.
Care giving doesn’t come with an instruction manual and every caregiver’s experience is different. The characteristic that most caregivers have in common is that they are often so focused on others’ needs, that they often neglect to take care of their own needs.
In this informational presentation, learn better ways to take care of yourself and to find balance in your life. The program will also give information on local and state resources that are available to care givers.
The presenter, Rebecca Abenante, is a coordinator of the Healthy Aging Program at Atlantic Health System and has active involvement with a wide variety of geriatric services at Morristown Medical Center. Rebecca has been working with seniors and their families for more than 15 years in a variety of settings, including senior affordable housing, assisted living, skilled nursing and acute care.
She has a Bachelor’s of Sociology and Certificate in Gerontology from Kean University, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a Masters of Social Work degree and Certificate in Aging from Rutgers University and is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of NJ. Rebecca is also certified by the National Association of Social Workers as an Advanced Social Worker in Gerontology.
