Adults 18+ only for this monthly dark and spicy bookclub featuring mocktails inspired by the books we read.

A night of laughter, snacks, and mocktails celebrating dark & spicy reads. There are occasionally crafts, and sometimes trinket trading. This month's selection is One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig, volume one in her Shepherd King series. This one is mildly spicy, it's more of a dark, eerie fantasy with lots of yearning. You may find a copy at his link (we suggest placing a hold on it): One Dark Window

The mocktail we will make is the The Nightmare: pomegranate juice, cola, lime juice, tonic, rosemary sprig.

More about One Dark Window: Elspeth Spindle needs more than luck to stay safe in the eerie, mist-locked kingdom she calls home--she needs a monster. She calls him the Nightmare, an ancient, mercurial spirit trapped in her head. He protects her. He keeps her secrets. But nothing comes for free, especially magic.

About Rachel Gillig: She is was born and raised on the California coast. She is a writer, with a BA in literary theory and criticism from UC Davis. If she is not ensconced in blankets dreaming up her next novel, Rachel is in her garden or walking with her husband, son, and their poodle, Wally.

New book discussion participants are always welcome.
