Jacki Skole traced the origins of her newest family member and discovered a dark truth about America's dog problem. She is a journalist and adjunct professor of communication at Raritan Valley Community College. Her journalism career was launched at CNN and she has produced programs for Animal Planet and HGTV. Dogland, her first book, received several awards including a Nautilus Silver Award and a Next Generation Indie Book Aware. Skole donates all proceeds from book sales to non-profits doing extraordinary work on behalf of companion animals.
