Honor our local history with Growing Up True, a new book celebrating African American landowners and farmers in the Sourland Mountain region.
Join us for a family-friendly read aloud, arts & crafts, and to meet the real-life book heroine, Ms. Patricia "Patty" True Payne! Copies of the book will be available for purchase (and make thoughtful holiday gifts).
Growing Up True, by Ryan Jillian Kilpatrick, is a project of the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum and was made possible by grants from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
