Je me souviens, “Remember me,” proclaims the motto of Quebec, using the French word that gives us in English "souveniers." Remember the battles and blizzards of General Richard Montgomery.
Remember the battles and blizzards Richard Montgomery, namesake of Montgomery Township, faced 250 years ago on New Year's Eve 1775 in this youth program. Meet a soldier of the Continental Army and make a souvenier of 1775 for New Jersey veterans celebrating the 250th Birthdays of the Continental Army, Navy and Marines in 2025.
Van Harlingen Historical Society, promoting and preserving the history of Montgomery Township, cohosts this program.

Down the Brook: The Revitalization of Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Sites is underway for Revolution NJ. Revolution NJ is New Jersey’s official observance of the 250th anniversaries of New Jersey’s first Constitution July 2, 2026 and the American Revolution in New Jersey from 2024 – 2033. Montgomery Township and Somerset County are Revolution NJ Communities.
