Join the Patrick Kerssen Trio for this journey through America's history of protest music and its impact on American culture and values through the present day.

Through the anti-slavery anthems in the 1800's, the Civil Rights, pro-labor, and Anti-War movements of the mid-20th century, and the female empowerment and environmental protest songs of the modern day, music has always been a powerful tool in the arsenal of those seeking to move the culture of the country and world towards justice and equality.

With live musical performance and an accompanying slideshow filled with historical information, this program is an enlightening and engaging look at some of the most consequential music of the last 150 years and how it continues to shape our lives today.

Attendees will enjoy this singing along on this journey through American history through the lens of music by artists like Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan, Taylor Swift, Pete Seeger, Nina Simone, and more. In an era where history is more important than ever, audiences will leave feeling uplifted and armed with more knowledge than they had when they arrived!
