Discover a fun and informative kite-making workshop, where you’ll learn about the Double Ninth Festival (Chóngyáng Jié).

The Double Ninth Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday that honors longevity, respects elders, and celebrates health and happiness.

All kite-making materials will be provided. A live demonstration of kite flying will follow, weather permitting. 

Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian due to the complexity of the kite making process.

Presented by Center for Cultural and Creative Exchange and Lisa Willoughby, kite performer. 

This workshop is made possible by funds from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
