The heroin epidemic that currently exists in this country has become considerably problematic in the past five years.
The amount of individuals using heroin and other opiates has increased as well as the number of reported deaths. This presentation will explore a number of the reasons for the increase in heroin use and number of deaths on record. The possible cultural, environmental and biological contributing factors will be addressed. The different types of treatment modalities that have proven to be most effective and what someone can do if they feel a loved one is suffering from an addiction will also be addressed.
This program will be presented by Kristin Harden LCSW, from Richard Hall.Substance abuse clinician of the C.A.R.E program (Co-occurring and Relationship Empowerment)
