Meet a Modern Sewing Machine

Introduction to machine sewing for beginners, including sewing safety, simple seams, and machine features. Sewing machines will be provided. Please see fabric requirements when registering.

Please bring 2 pieces of fabric, each approximately 12 x 12 inches or a similar size. Cotton fabric that is not white is recommended.

Space is strictly limited. The two sessions (2:30 and 6:30) are exactly the same, only register for one. Read the Sewing Machine Use waiver below, then click the box to give your consent when registering. 

Sewing Machine Use Waiver: 

I understand and freely and knowingly assume the potential risks involved with using a sewing machine. If there are any issues that will affect participation in this event or if a special accommodation needs to be made, I will contact the library at least one week prior to the event.

I do hereby waive, release and hold harmless the Somerset County Library System of NJ, its officers, sponsors, supervisors and representatives for any injury that may be suffered by me in the normal course of participation in this program and the activities incidental thereto, whether the result of negligence or any other cause.
