Bring your plant questions to your library! A Rutgers Master Gardener will answer them for you. This is a walk-in program.
Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Somerset County is focused on building strong connections within our community and aims to address emerging issues with modern solutions related to agriculture, food, natural resources, environment, public health, and youth development. The Agriculture & Natural Resources Department provides science-based information for homeowner lawn, garden, and landscaping challenges. Through community outreach, we disseminate educational resources on a diverse range of topics, including garden and household pest identification and control, tick identification and Lyme disease, composting, and environmentally-sound gardening practices.
A division of the Agriculture & Natural Resources Department is the Rutgers Master Gardeners, who are passionate, local volunteers trained by expert Rutgers University instructors to use both scientific knowledge and the latest resources to help answer your lawn and garden questions. The Garden Helpline is a free service for county residents who have questions related to home gardening, lawn care, indoor plant care, insect, weed, or plant identification, and plant diagnostics.
