Why did it happen and did British and German soldiers really play football in no-man's land?
We will explore this remarkable event that took place at the very beginning of the first brutal world war of the 20th Century, its precedence and its connection, if any, with 21st century modern warfare.
This program will be presented by historian Bruce Tucker who lectures for the OLLI-RU adult education program at Rutgers University. Bruce has been part of the faculty of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Rutgers University since 2009 and is a recipient of the Marlene Pomper distinguished teaching award in 2015.
