Explore Chinese calligraphy at this fun and educational evening that features a lecture on Chinese calligraphy and a calligraphy demonstration by artist Yi-Zhi Huang.
Yi-Zhi Huang, a professor at Rutgers University, was born in a family of artists. His grandfather was a prominent professional calligrapher, painter and seal carver and his father was also a reputable calligrapher.
Professor Huang’s calligraphy works are mainly in Li Shu (also called Official Script) and Xing Shu (or Running Script). Evolved from traditional styles, the structure of the characters and their connections in his works has been enriched with his insight, emotion, and artistic creativity.
