Enjoy a Fifties Flashback with this 1959 romantic drama, based on Sloan Wilson's novel of the same name, about teenage love and adult passions during a summer vacation in coastal Maine.

1950's teen idols Sandra Dee and Troy Donahue star as star-crossed lovers vacationing in coastal Maine, dealing with their romantic feelings as well as their meddling parents -- who have untold passions of their own. This steamy (for 1959) melodrama is also remembered for Max Steiner's beautiful instrumental score, which spent nine weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1960.

Directed by Delmer Daves. Starring Sandra Dee, Troy Donahue, Dorothy McGuire, Richard Egan, Constance Ford, Arthur Kennedy.
