This coffeehouse open mic night and art gallery will offer free refreshments while teens & adults perform speeches, songs, poems and other written pieces they created about hate crimes and violence.
Registration preferred, but drop-ins welcome.
Rules of the Night:
1. No act is allowed to be longer than 7 minutes.
2. Any use of derogatory terms or profanity towards any group of people or individual will in result in banning from further participation.
3. No talking during acts unless the individual presenting the act allows for commentary.
If you are interested in submitting artwork for the event, please email the Teen Librarian, Christine Jansen, at cjansen@sclibnj.org.
We will also be collecting new personal hygiene products for Safe + Sound Somerset, a domestic violence service near Hillsborough, NJ providing help for people dealing with domestic abuse.
They are in need of the following new, full size (not travel size) products:
Will you need a special accommodation (including food allergy if applicable to the program)? If so, please contact the library and provide at least two weeks notice prior to the event date and the library will make every effort to honor all requests. Thereafter, requests will still be considered and may have less of a chance of being honored.
