Everyone has a story to tell, a story that matters. Learn how to develop a memoir writing practice in this workshop presented by Edvige Giunta, Professor of English at New Jersey City University.
Join the newly formed Warren Township Writers group. Meet like-minded writers interested in improving their skills.
This month's meeting will feature a program called "Writing Your Memoir Five Minutes at a Time." Unlike autobiography, memoir is based on the idea that everyone has a story to tell, a story that matters. Writing memoirs asks one awaken and be guided by empathy towards oneself and others. In this way, memoir prompts a journey of self discovery that enables writers to gain insights into their past. Through lessons in the craft of memoir, the exploration of editorial revisions, and invaluable writing suggestions, participants learn how to develop a writing practice and continue their writing life beyond the session.
This program is funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
