The glass house collection was created by Doris Duke herself and the aerial view confirmed the collection was larger than the New York Botanical Garden's Haupt Conservatory. The glass houses were open to the public from 1964 until hey were closed by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation in May 2008. The plant material was donated to public gardens throughout the United States.
Learn about the vision of Duke Farms today.
