As we enter the Christmas period, Charles Dickens gives us words of wisdom on how we can carry out the spirit of goodwill – not just through his famed "Great Expectations," and "Christmas Carol" but through other holiday tales less well-known that will be delved into throughout this lecture.
The program will begin with an overview of his personal life, his sad childhood, and then dig deep into his texts and how his message for social justice was compelled by living in the Victorian Era.
In this informative lecture, learn from a literary perspective the surprising details about his beloved, familiar works, and get to know his other holiday tales that will inspire you to keep the Christmas spirit not just in the holiday season, but all year round.
Presented by Professor Jamie Parmese from Raritan Valley Community College.
