Professor David Treuer will discuss his book, "The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee: Native America from 1890 to the Present." The book tells the story of Native America in the 21st century.
David will tell of what led him to write the book.
This book was the finalist for the 2019 National Book Award, longlisted for the 2020 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence. It was a New York Times Bestseller. The book was also named a best book of 2019 by The New York Times, TIME, The Washington Post, NPR, Hudson Booksellers, The New York Public Library, The Dallas Morning News, and Library Journal.
