Learn about roadshow musicals from 1967 to 1970 including “Dr. Doolittle,” “My Fair Lady,” “Camelot,” “Star,” “Funny Girl,” and “Oliver.” Presented by Sam and Candy Caponegro.
Sixteen Roadshow musicals--a long, expensive movie that opened in just a few select theaters in major cities before it went on to a general release--were made between 1967 and 1970. Only four were profitable and some believe this was a major reason for the decline of film musicals. This program will start with the disastrous "Dr. Dolittle," then move onto “My Fair Lady," "Camelot," "Star," "Funny Girl,” and "Oliver."
Presented by Sam and Candy
