Local history librarian, Ken Kaufman, will examine what documentation is readily available for researching early settlers in Somerset County using online genealogical resources.

When Andrew Mellick chronicled the settlement and struggles of his ancestors in "The Story of an Old Farm," he was incapacitated from serious injury and relied on 1880s correspondence to gather his research. Yet, he was able to produce a great deal of information, including a five generation descendancy chart for Johannes Moelick/John Mellick, who immigrated from Bendorf, Germany in 1735, and settled in Bedminster, New Jersey in 1747. Local history librarian, Ken Kaufman, examines what documentation is now readily available for these Mellick generations from online genealogical resources.  What insights can they add to the Mellick work?
